About the association
Odense Red Cross Youth runs a wide range of activities for children and young people in vulnerable positions, including homework cafés, one-to-one homework help, children and youth cafés that serve as respite at OUH and shelters, social communities and summer vacation camps - all created and run by young volunteers with a focus on community, safety and well-being. In addition, our young volunteers have the opportunity to be deployed in the Red Cross' international projects, and some facilitate 'life skills' programs for young people in Denmark with a focus on life management and setting boundaries
We offer...
Events/workshops/presentations + Advice or sparring + Visibility/communication
Odense Red Cross Youth works to create meaningful communities and increase well-being among children and young people in vulnerable positions - driven by young volunteers with strong social commitment and a practical understanding of the target group.
We offer:
-
Workshops and presentations where we use young people's own voices and experiences to work with life management, boundary setting and well-being. We emphasize giving young people a voice and a platform where their perspectives are heard and taken seriously.
-
Homework cafés and one-to-one homework help, where our skilled and committed volunteers support children and young people in their learning - with a focus on both professional development and social security.
-
Facilitating thematic evenings and dialog meetings where young people can voice their experiences and contribute perspectives to the development of new initiatives or policies.
-
Sparring on visibility and communication, especially for young people. We are curious about how we can jointly develop new ways to engage and involve young people more meaningfully - both as target group and co-creators.
-
Volunteering and participating in local events where we can contribute with activities, info, creative input and conversations with young people.
-
Knowledge about young people and volunteering that can be relevant to stakeholders who want to create or strengthen youth initiatives. We are happy to share experiences with community building, retention and motivation of volunteers.
-
Insight into social work in practice, for example through presentations or collaborations with educational institutions where theory is linked to voluntary practice and work with vulnerable children and young people.
