Meet the associations that offer talent programs

2 hours per week
Meet Alaa in the video above
2 Hours a Week supports the inclusion of refugees and multilingual children for two hours a week. The concept is simple – one child and one volunteer meet for two hours each week, where they play, read, sing, and go on trips together. It is about learning the Danish language, learning to express oneself well and fluently in Danish, and learning to actively use new concepts and expressions.

Red Cross Youth
Meet Kristine in the video above
The Youth Red Cross is an independent organization that helps children and young people with problems such as loneliness, abuse, poverty, and violence. Although our primary purpose is to make a difference for children and young people, we also place great emphasis on the community among our volunteers, as we believe that everyone can be special to someone.

The stop
Meet Camilla in the video above
Stoppestedet creates community for and with people who are mentally vulnerable. We are a refuge, a place to hang out, and a community. Here, you can meet like-minded people, get support and help for everyday life with fun activities, socializing, and more well-being. We have approximately 75 volunteers who bring the place to life, contributing good ideas, social interaction, and diversity.

National Association of shelters
Meet Josephine in the video above
We strengthen drop-in centers in what they do best: helping socially vulnerable people turn their lives around through activities that create communities. Every year, the National Association of Drop-in Centers holds a Holiday Camp so that socially vulnerable people also have the opportunity to go on vacation. A vacation is a break from everyday life and something we all need. In our experience, vacations provide new perspectives on everyday life and thus the desire for small and large changes.

The right to your own story
We have an ambition that former foster children should be aware of their right to access information about themselves. We offer concrete help and support in locating their child welfare case files and in understanding and processing their contents.

Café Exit
Café Exit is an association that, through various offers and activities, works to support inmates and former inmates in leading a life without crime and helps them achieve their desire for a new start in life.

The Free Advice
Our aim is to provide advice to marginalized citizens who lack the necessary knowledge, resources, or language skills, for example, to function in society on an equal footing with other citizens. Our mission is to advise anyone who needs it and help them build their resources and opportunities for action.

Sct. Nicolai Service
At Sct. Nicolai Tjenesten, we talk on the phone with people who feel lonely, may be grieving, or are experiencing a personal crisis. The conversations are anonymous and non-binding. All our new volunteers undergo an introductory course where they learn about conversation techniques, ethics, and our values.

Café Umbrella
Café Paraplyen is a meeting place where you can chat, read the newspaper, play a game, or just BE, but it is also a café where we have time to sit down and be together, and where you will experience a level of care and attention that is different.

Save the Children Youth
Use your knowledge, creativity, and skills to strengthen children's academic and social development. At the same time, you will gain valuable experience, a strong community with other young people, and experiences that will benefit both your studies and your resume. With us, you will help create meaningful learning activities and safe communities for children and young people who struggle with school. We know that children learn in different ways – and that is why we help them rediscover their desire to learn and believe in their own abilities through fun and engaging activities.

DFUNK
DFUNK – Danish Refugee Council Youth is the only nationwide organization that primarily works for and with young people who have fled to Denmark. We do this primarily through our social communities, where young people meet for everything from sports activities, cooking, dancing, and other social activities. In addition, we have a number of nationwide initiatives with a special focus on subject mentoring programs, knowledge and school services, and educational courses focusing on creative and artistic forms of expression.
Meet the students
Meet some of the students who have completed the Talent in Practice program below.

Annesofie Ohlsen
Student teacher/volunteer at 2 Hours a Week
I am a volunteer in "Syng sproget frem" because I love musical-aesthetic activities with multilingual children, including singing games, pulse, language stimulation and rhythm. In addition, it has been very rewarding both professionally and personally for me to work with this group of children and target group. It's really nice to be a volunteer.

Nikoline Lundberg Nielsen
Education student/volunteer at Stoppestedet
For me, being a volunteer is extremely rewarding. It makes me happy to know that I'm doing something for others who need extra help and support. At the same time, I have developed my pedagogical skills, which I have benefited from during my education. Volunteering is a gift to both others and yourself.

Monica Bøhm
Education student/volunteer at Stoppestedet
Volunteering without an educational agenda gives me a real opportunity to create a space where users and I can be ourselves. I experience how facilitating activities contributes to community and meaningful relationships. I can use this experience to broaden my perspectives and link it to theory in the pedagogical program.

Mads Nørregaard
Social work student/
volunteer at Den Frie Rådgivning
I volunteer at Den Frie Rådgivning because I want to help inform citizens who have difficulty navigating the Danish system, in a digital world and in a world where you can be left to your own devices. That's why I help contribute to making people feel seen and understood. In addition, I am part of a professional community where people are passionate about making a difference.

Cecilie Kvistgård Jensen
Student teacher/volunteer at 2 Hours a Week
Being a volunteer is different from being an employee, especially for the people you touch. They know you're there because you have a desire, a curiosity and a passion to be there with them.

Lise Leth Balsby
Education student/volunteer at Home-Start
I am a volunteer at Home Start. It makes me happy to experience and feel that I make a difference for the family I am connected to.

Kirstine Lynfort Møller Jørgensen
Education student/volunteer at Stoppestedet
I've gotten to know myself in a meaningful way - both personally and professionally.

Clara Sundahl
Student teacher/volunteer at 2 Hours a Week
It's been educational and challenging, but incredibly rewarding to do something good for others.
